ZAPiT Games released the Game Wave in 2005, a DVD-based console built for family and party play, with up to six wireless controllers.
Its discs were trivia, quiz and board-style games meant for groups rather than solo action players.
Game Wave discs run on the console and on other DVD-compatible players.
