From 2006, Apple sold games for click-wheel iPods through iTunes, controlled entirely by the scroll wheel. They came before the iPhone and App Store changed mobile gaming.
The catalogue held a few dozen official titles, among them versions of well-known games and Apple’s own releases.
Their tie to iTunes authorisation makes click-wheel iPod games hard to preserve.
