Atari released the Lynx in 1989, ahead of its rivals with a colour backlit screen and hardware that could scale and rotate sprites. Its size and battery drain held it back against the Game Boy.
The library included California Games, Blue Lightning, Chip’s Challenge and a set of arcade ports.
Handy and other emulators run the Lynx catalogue on current hardware.
