SNK launched the Neo Geo CD in 1994 to bring its expensive cartridge library to a lower price on CD, though loading times grew long.
It carried the same games as the cartridge Neo Geo, among them The King of Fighters, Metal Slug and Samurai Shodown.
Mednafen and other emulators run the Neo Geo CD library on modern systems.
