Sega released the Pico in 1993 as an educational console for small children. Players turned the pages of an attached storybook and touched them with a pen to drive the on-screen action.
Its cartridges taught letters, numbers and shapes through Disney, Sega and other children’s characters, and it sold steadily in Japan for years.
MAME and other emulators run a share of the Pico library on modern systems.
