Sord released the M5 in 1982 in Japan, but it found more of an audience abroad, sold in Britain and used widely in Czechoslovakia. Its graphics chip was shared with the ColecoVision and MSX.
Its games came on cartridge and covered arcade ports and simple action titles.
MAME and other emulators run the Sord M5 library on modern systems.
