Wargames are large scale tactical simulations. Players will typically command a force from tactical map in a single war, campaign or battle. Gameplay usually revolves around a strategic phase in which movement of forces etc. is planned, followed by a shorter action phase where the planned actions are played out against the opposing force. Popular games include Close Combat, Steel Panthers and Mech Commander Gold.
