Looks Japanese ? Of course it does. However, with the Unit Editor, the names of the countries, weapon types and units can be changed to English. Also, most of the units overlap each other in an ugly way during the battle animations. That's another thing that can be fixed in the editor. I have improved all the unit art in that way. The unit editor is ABA, can be downloaded from archive.org.

Based on screenshots all versions look at least partially Japanese.

The Sharp X68000 version is the best. Similar to the PC-98 but you get much better sound effects with the X68k relative to beeps on the PC-98. And to my eyes, the interface is cleaner, and much better editor functionality. The campaign requires creating a User Disk, a bit fiddly but manageable. Also, there are many extra map disks and the ability to load/edit maps from other Daisenryaku games. With the Unit Editor (Abba) it is possible to completely customize your armies. The only drawback of Campaign Version is the rather stupid AI.
