If the game doesnt start for you its because two problems. Solution 1 by Grok: It will hang during startup due to a registry query that requires administrator privileges. Cause: When creating its window, EDEN.EXE attempts to copy the Windows AVI handler to `HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AVIFile\RIFFHandlers\RAF`. This registry key is excluded from registry virtualization. Without administrator privileges, `RegCreateKeyEx` fails, the window creation is aborted, and the process terminates after approximately 50 ms with an exit code of 0. This is why no window appeared, even when using the Locale Emulator. Modification: The two write operations (creating and subsequently deleting this `RAF` key) are now redirected to `HKEY_CURRENT_USER` instead of `HKLM`. The game continues to read the actual AVI handler from `HKLM` using read-only access.
Second: It needs ir32_32.dll for codec, thats not installed anymore on modern systems. You can download it and install it but it has security risks so be cautious. Use a VM or uninstall it after playing.
