Managed to run it just fine on a Win98 virtual machine using PCem. Works like a charm.

the windows version seems to crash, tried running in wins 95 & 98 compatibility mode. C++ runtime error.

Does Virtual Box emulate PC-98 architecture? If you want to play FD version, you need PC-98 emulator and MD-DOS system for PC-98. The FD version of this game is for PC-98, not for PC/AT DOS system. If you want to play Windows version, you needn't any emulator.
If you want to convert the FD image, try VFIC(Virtual Floppy Image Converter).

Does anybody have the floppy disc files in a form besides fdd? Like a form that can run on virtual box? Or does anybody know how to convert them?
