A fun and original puzzle game, Heaven and Earth is essentially a collection of three seperate types of puzzles: an original card game, a slightly arcade-ish game called "pendulum," and a collection of intriguing puzzles called "illusions."
Although puzzles are available stand-alone, there is a built-in "tournament" called the "pilgrim," which contains the most difficult puzzles of all three types. The card game itself is worth the price of the whole game. Highly recommended!

Hey everyone, I re-created the card game (with permission from the copyright holder, no less) for modern PCs. It took quite some time, and I'm very proud of the result. Have a look at the itch.io page (Steam coming soon): https://shaharklinger.itch.io/vela. There's also a demo version of just one hand.
I hope you enjoy it!
Here it is 2025 and I'm still loving the game. The online DOSBox version used to work on my mac up until a few years ago. Now it is not working. It loads but the mouse doesn't do anything. I so wish the developer hadn't abandoned the iOS version.
loved this game whhheey back when. delighted to find it here. now i have to find a dosbox app to run this on my win.10 laptop.
Can this be put on android I loved it back in the 90s
Why isn't there any sound? I know that there were sound effects for some of the cards and at the very least when you solved a puzzle in The Illusions.
Is there a version of heaven and earth for Android devices?
Loved it in the old days. Would love to feel it again.
Love this game! Had it for my 1990s Macs and then bought it again when I recently brought a Mac Plus back to life. The DOS, version, however, is nice because it's color.
I "loved Heaven and Earth." In fact, I have the original game, in its box — including the manual. I did find "The Pilgrim" frustrating, in that I got stuck in a card game segment for which there seemed no solution, no matter how I tried. However, I found the Illusions challenging and entertaining. And of course, the Solitaire was way cool — especially the sounds — but I also really liked all the designs. So … glad to find this!
You should click on the cards and move them into appropriate piles. Just be careful with using tornado and other "bad weather" multiplies as they will bring you negative points.
How can I score points in this game?
I know that the in-game "How-to-Play" section does offer some combos, but not how to activate certain tricks.
The game one its own really is calming and meditative! It's a wonder whether anyone made anymore of such games other than Microsoft Mahjong.
Nevermind, found it here: https://www.iangilman.com/software/heavenearthanswers.php
Someone can provide the passwords list please?
Thanks.
Loved this game. I was missed when an d walked with my copy. But it was worth buying again. So Collins here.
Windows 1.0 was released on November 20, 1985. and internet was not main stream in the home until around 1995 but was a thing since the 1960's with the D.O.D.
I have downloaded the "Heaven & Earth" game of 1992 and when I clicked on INSTALL, I received a window stating the following:
"...an installable Virtual Device Driver failed Dll initialization. Click Close to terminate the application.
Ignore box to click was available.
Will the game still install and function without that driver?
An intriguing game, and best of all, non-violent
Sorry Ambriel, but Windows and the internet were both invented before the early 90's
Looking forward to it
I have it since my first computer back in early '90s before the Internet or Windows was invented. Love the card game and illusions most.
Cheatsheet to passwords is here: http://scottkim.com/heavenearth/index.html
never mind - answered my own question. I found my original box, with the floppies and book. The floppies are probably still good, if only there was any such thing as a floppy drive anymore...
Does anyone know the answers to the questions they ask? Is there a cheat sheet anywhere that has the answers, because it won't let you into the game unless you answer...
My first purchased game.I still love it 20 yrs later. Thank you!
