Buy on steam is just a insult the port there is terrible. Lets hope GOGs dreamlist manages to get hold of it and bring it in a better version into current times.

Destroy him my robots.

Probably one of the most sophisticated computer games ever IMO.

If you want to stay awhile, here's an Interview with Denis Caswell:

"There were no graphics or sound design tools, either. The graphics, for example, were drawn on graph paper and converted into hex strings that were hand-typed into the code."

Stay forever.
No! No! No!

Spent hours playing this... and finished several times... very tough; but getting enough "freeze" cards memorizing the music sequence was the only way to get through it...
I have my C64 still somewhere but likely my floppy wont work anymore
(glad i found Dune II here; my favorite from a decade later is still here)

Dervrak is wrong, it was quite possible to solve the game after a lot of practice.

There was a bug where the same puzzle set was offered to you, so if you played often enough, you could remember how to solve the puzzle, so long as you didn't die a lot.

I'll never forget how awesome it was hearing the voice saying: "Another visitor. Stay a while. Stay forever!" And the screaming when you fall in the holes.
Fantastic game.

Back in the day, I played this game what must been a 1000 times. Though it wasn't, it was one of my favorite games by Epyx. I did manage to complete the game a number of times and in later years, I have found myself still playing it. It's not Impossible to beat, just tough for those who hasn't played that many games of it. I wouldn't use the telephone as it will take time away from your limit time. Every time I have beat it, it was without the telephone. For me, it was a very challenging and fun game. Every game the pieces, robots, rooms, and whatever else would change. So, there was no set system.

Upon release, the C-64 version of this Impossible Mission was famous (or maybe infamous) for being unsolvable. It was physically impossible to obtain all the clues and complete the game in the time limit even with a perfect run. Which I suppose is a bit ironic since the game IS named Impossible Mission. And since downloading a patch off the internet wouldn't be a viable option for another decade, you were pretty much just screwed...

Indeed. The 1984 game Impossible Mission, unlike its sequel, was never released for DOS. Also has nothing to do to the film/series based Mission Impossible game from 1991.

This is Mission Impossible. You should really test things before you put them on the site. If you want Impossible Mission on the site get the C64 version.
