Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer

Both mods are aim to upgrade the original Knytt Stories for modern systems by adding extra features and better compatibility with modern systems, check the websites of mods for more details. We also recommend to check Knytt Stories Fan Site for more details about mods & custom levels for Knytt Stories and instruction how to install them

If you want, you can create your own custom levels in Level Editor, here's the video tutorial how to use the Level Editor
- Fans of the game are currently working on implementation of Knytt Stories in the Godot engine, the project is called YKnytt. It is an open source implementation of Knytt Stories in C# and features the constant 60 FPS, support for Knytt Stories+ and level downloader, along with bugfixes and optimizations. I remember finding this game in college. It was so relaxing after finals to play it with a cold beer , no responsibilities and see all the areas and power ups. You can feel dev had love for the game.
Also once you beat the machine all the bad areas change into nice areas . Nice to see your progress.
