Based on the same engine as Music Construction Set, Pinball Construction Set is another original application that remain as fun and playable today as it was years ago. The program lets you construct a pinball table from the ground up: place hoops, targets, rails, and many other components on the table, then play your creation.
Definitely one of the best uses of 34KB I've ever seen. Great design, great game. Two thumbs up!

Real fun game, and I can make anything in general. The construction set just makes me laugh.
WHAT ARE THE CONTROLS!! i CANT GRAB anything
Odd that it was more fun making the tables than playing them.
I remember first reading about this when I bought a Shareware Disk (2x1.44") from Pearl, a german trash outlet. They sold a compilation of 2x4 "Pinball Games" on 2 3.5" HD Floppies (each Table was ~65kbyte in size, what a waste) and they referenced this product as the tool that these tables were created with. Their Catalog Number was SW0171E (I still have the original disks to show for it) and it was a total waste of time and money since the tables are quite bad and were no fun back then - and way too fast even on a 386 SX/16. I was very disappointed when I got the disks.
This tool however is a lot of fun still. Use ~350 cycles in DOSBox when trying these... it should work just fine.
I remember playing with this on the Apple ][; I remember it wasn't the DOS version, cuz I remember the colours from the Apple, vs the CGA. LOL
Ah, I have some FOND memories of CGA games, but not for Pinball. ;)
I created some mad designs back then.. but ultimately I kinda "cheated", by lining up lots of points scoring bumpers, just to see how far I could take it.
That got boring rather quickly - LOL! - and it was followed by more reasonable designs, with "targets" in the upper field which rather honed one's use of the flippers, by timing etc, to get the right angles...
A well-programmed game, I'd say.. really gave a decent sense of "real pinball".
I never did get the knack for "balancing" how often or when to "nudge" the table, but learned to moderate it, to avoid going TILT!
:D
CGA graphics. No comment, just CGA.
Loved this game back on my Apple II+. I installed this on a Compaq Portable and the program runs. I can save a file, but when I go to open it, it opens and then freezes when I hit Quit to go to the table editor. Its really too bad.
