One of the rarest games from IBM, Street Fighting Man is also one of the company's best releases.
The game casts you as Nick, a brawny dude who must journey to the rough areas in 5 U.S. cities, ranging from Denver to New York City. Your goal in each is to rescue your girlfriend Xianna from the city's major gang - which naturally requires beating up a lot of people who stand in your way. In a nice change from the typical side view of other beat 'em up games at that time, Street Fighting Man features a nicely detailed isometric view, with clearly drawn characters that are big enough for you to distinguish their moves. People are not animated as smoothly as Bushido, but still believable.
The fun of Street Fighting Man lies in its nonstop action and a great atmosphere. When you approach a new gang's territory, for example, the game tells you whose turf you are on. Each gang has its own attack style and weapons, and some are tougher than others. Like River City Ransom, you can pick up various objects around the screen to use as weapon, although they are not very imaginative, and are hard to come by.
If you enjoy beat 'em ups, Street Fighting Man remains one of the best late '80s entries that should keep you entertained. Recommended!

Very nice movie
When you go your whole life thinking you are the only person that played this game.
it was released with the files missing
Ok guys, i figured out why the game crashes once you enter through that one door in NY. It is trying to open the files BINTF.MSH, BINTP0.MSH and BINTP1.MSH... those files are obviously missing and if anyone has those files it will fix the program from crashing.
epic game! finaly i`ve found it!
I searched for this game for soooo much time, thinking it was called "Nick" or something similar, because at the end of the game there was a wall with a graffiti that said Nick.
Only the manliest of men can play this.
I loved this game, but the copy I got had some kind of corruption error because of the unreliable floppy disks of the era. One more thing about this game: I love the music!
I'm looking for a copy that doesn't have the "replace disk" error message in Denver (I think that's the screen where it happens, it's been a while). Of course I no longer have those 5.25" floppies from back in the day and every copy on the internets has this error that make sit impossible to complete the game. SADNESS!!!
I played this on a 8 byte AMEX harddrive built about 1986?
what file is it to start this game
never thought I'd see this again.
