LeapFrog released the Didj in 2008 as a learning handheld for older children, with games built around reading and maths that parents could adjust and track.
Its cartridges used popular film and cartoon licences to carry the lessons, and a homebrew scene later grew around the hardware.
The Didj stayed an education device and draws niche interest from tinkerers.
