Fujitsu launched the FM Towns in 1989 as a Japanese home computer built around a CD-ROM drive and strong graphics, unusual for its time.
Its library leaned on CD adventures, role-playing games and enhanced ports, among them Ys editions and localised Sierra titles.
Tsugaru and other emulators now run FM Towns software on current hardware.
