Sega released the SG-1000 in 1983, its first home console, on the very day Nintendo launched the Famicom. It sold modestly and led on to the Master System.
Its games were simple early-1980s fare, including Congo Bongo and Girl’s Garden, an early game from a young Yuji Naka.
Emulators such as BlueMSX and MAME run the SG-1000 library on modern systems.
