Zeebo Inc. launched the console in 2009, first in Brazil, aimed at buyers priced out of the main consoles. Games came only by download over a built-in 3G connection, which cut piracy but limited the catalogue.
Its games ran on mobile-class hardware and included brand tie-ins and versions of well-known franchises alongside originals.
The download-only model makes the Zeebo library hard to preserve today.
