@GRAYPHAQSE: I have to disagree! Managed to beat 2 of those 3 available shareware levels and had fun with it. Even recorded it and will upload it soon to my Dailymotion account if you wish for proof. X)

I remember this game from one of my CDs that was a collection of 250 demo versions of already released games. This game is just as difficult as I remember it and the game doesn't get any easier the older you get. Limited ammunition, 1-hit death, and a number of other inconveniences built into the game makes this a rather difficult-to-enjoy experience if you're trying to beat the game.
If you're playing this on the abandonware website, you only get to play the first 3 episodes which is what the demo consists of. The game is still being sold (Thanks Billy for pointing out Alivesoft still sells that game) so you can get this game for the price it's actually worth rather than the $22 people who bought the game was being milked for

@Billy You watch (and believe) CNN, don't you. Go and give all your shekels to whoever demands them, but don't preach about it here.

Technically not abandonware, I think the full version of Billy The Kid returns is still available online these days directly from the publisher for a few bucks. alivesoft.com/index.php/legacy-game-downloads/

This game is somewhat challenging, the platforming is a bit stiff but the gameplay is solid.
