Burst is a highly addictive arcade/puzzle game. Line up balloons and watch them Burst. Use special items and point bonuses for enhanced entertainment.
Swap balloons to line up three or more matching shapes. The more balloons lined up, the greater the points. Entertaining bonus items such as Burst Balloons, Lightning, Tornadoes, and Flying Saucers burst even more balloons. Play with ten different high-resolution balloons and point bonuses and you won't want to stop.
Burst began as Macintosh games by Dracosoft in the early 2000s. In November 2003, a small company called Arcade Monkey acquired the rights to Dracosoft’s game catalog with the goal of bringing those titles to Windows. For a brief period in 2003–2004, the Windows versions were released under the Arcade Monkey name, including Avalanche 2.1 and Burst 2.0. These are the versions many Windows players remember today.
The partnership did not last long. In July 2004, Dracosoft announced that Arcade Monkey was shutting down after its main developers took jobs elsewhere. The games returned to Dracosoft, which continued developing and updating them on Macintosh.
So although many people remember Burst as Arcade Monkey games, they were originally created by Dracosoft. Arcade Monkey was a short but important chapter in their history, responsible for bringing them to Windows and introducing them to a new group of players before disappearing less than a year later.
