FX Fighter is an exciting 3d fighting game, similar to Virtua Fighter.
The story is this - aliens from around the universe have gathered to battle for the title of best fighter in the universe. The game's excellent graphics and smooth animations are enjoyable features. One thing I disliked about this game was the lack of character personality. The characters in the game are all quite original (i.e. a preying mantis, a molten lava creature, etc.), but they lack individuality.
Another thing I didn't care for was how dark the game environment is - and this cannot be altered. However, the graphics can be sharpened or dulled depending on what type of computer you have, which is a helpful option.

I'm no expert at DOS but it seems with this game you have to (simply) edit some DOSBox settings (text file) through the DOSBox options launcher.
Once you're there, try changing these settings to these values:
core=simple
cputype=auto
cycles=20000
cycleup=10
cycledown=10
Setting the cycles to around 15000-20000 makes it work pretty well for me, but I don't know how all this works so there's probably/possibly a better combination of these settings to get this to work.
BTW, anyone who wants the soundtrack can find it here: https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/fx-fighter-pc. If you want the full original experience, burn it to a cd along with the download data.

I used to listen to the CD audio tracks in my portable boom box and fake kick around, or real kick around the invisible enemies as a child. I loved kicking that Rygil chump's butt.
reminds me of that Alien blood sport game a bit (or was that something else?)
I have the CD version ... anyone want it, email me @ stevenmcflyjr@aol.com
This was actually really advanced for it's time.
