Great concept where the function keys change your stance (weapons, keys, healing, etc.) The graphics aren't great, but my imagination fills in the blanks. The game is fluid, and is much faster than say 'Sword of Fargoal', which is still one of my favourites. The only downside with this is the time limit. When I'm in a dungeon crawler, I want to explore every inch of the dungeon, and not just rush to the next exit. This is still a 8.5/10.

Spent many hours avoiding homework with this one back in the 80's. Great game.

Gateway to Apshai was an awesome game at the time on my Atari 800. My only issue was never getting to finish it as the deeper levels, (eight I think) got so hard. So I don't know if there was an End Boss you had to fight to win the game or not (or I just don't remember!). Not sure how many hours I spent in that dungeon crawler but it was great fun and very addictive at the time. I can't resist giving it a try again. Thanks.
