In Jetpack, you play an adventurer without personality, who must gather all gems from a level to proceed to the next one until you've finished all hundred of them.
The action is executed in a labyrinth-platformer way, with a strong dose of puzzle-ism. In its own close-quarters, fast-paced C64-reminiscent sort of way, Jetpack is a satisfyingly nostalgic experience. A hundred levels in itself is enough to keep you busy for a fine amount of time, but as if that weren't enough, there's a nice level editor bundled along the game, and because of this you can easily drown yourself in the sea of Jetpack levels found on the Net. As a game it's fun, challenging and sometimes fustrating - recommended, especially for younger gamers. That's not to say I wasn't still stuck with it, nooo. :-) There's an alternate graphics set available, which turns the game into a Christmas version, with Santa Claus in the starring role and gems replaced with Christmas presents, of course.
Overall, Jetpack is simply one of the most addictive puzzle games you'll ever play. Recommended!

Adam Pedersen (original game creator) gave permission in the Jetpack discord recently for anyone to make a Jetpack game, including original assets and levels. So a group of us have been rebuilding it from scratch. It's called JetpackDX
Goal is 1:1 parity with a modern web version along with a bunch of new quality of life features, a new level editor, and competitive leaderboards.
We’ve made really good progress and are close to freezing the base engine for leaderboard integrity (after doing a full reset of existing runs from beta testing).
If you remember this game and want to help out / play a modern version of it, then check it out!

25 YEARS LATER and im still coming back to this great game im 30 now .
This game is highly addictive. I'm currently at level 74 and the difficulty rises gradually at a nice pace instead of too steep or too easy. So many of these gems im just finding out about now that slipped through the net in my younger years.
Now my autistic son loves this game, he cant get enough of it. He wakes up. Begs for it. All day long, "can i have jetpack man"(hes 5).
Thank you so much for the nostalgia, i grew up playing this at the boys in girls club next to the foster family i lived w.
i remember playing this back in 96, god i loved this on that brand new windows 95
I still remember how I made absurd levels with the editor and tortured the monsters. :)
Jetpack, yeah! A great game for sure!

This game is amazing. I wasted so many hours playing this in the early 1990's. Glad I found it again. I just put it on my old 10 MHz turbo 8088 system and played for a good hour.
