@J "The audio is Redbook Audio and is actual tracks after the data track on the CD. As such, this data isnt carried over into an ISO and must be performed in a .bin/.cue. I did find a copy of this and have gotten this working in DosBox, if anyone wants me to do a full writeup," I would. I remember loving the funny things the store people would say.

For those not getting the game to work on modern computers , here's how it finally worked for me (Windows 11):
- Executed DosBox - Mounted the Windows version of the game linked on this page to D:\ in DosBox - Mounted Windows 3.x which comes with the download package to C:\ - Executed win.com on c:\ - Executed the setup.exe within Jones' Game Directory (from within windows 3.x) - Chose extended sound during its setup (which enables the voices, sound effects and music) - Executed the Jones Game from within windows 3.x, it creates an icon
Any error messages in win 3.11, I just ignored upon startup, they didn't have any relevance.

Hi J, I would very much appreciate the details for the full audio CD version! I've been trying to get this version working on a modern PC so that I can play it with my kids.

Fantastic little game by Sierra. I have fond memories of it. The link to the jonesinthefastlane.com worked but there was no sound. It plays like a boardgame with fantastic Sierra sarcasm. I introduced it to my daughters and they really enjoyed it. They asked to play it again a second time.

On a sidenote, there is a very similar game (ripoff?) called LifeQuest for android phones. It's very good, check it out!

Anybody having trouble running this game should get SCUMMVM. The game runs perfect in it.

Well, this games is a bit difficult to run, you will have to dig a bit into DOSBox configuration. See the instructions on this page : Jones in the Fast Lane help

Hmm, no matter what I do I can't seem to get the game running. Either in DosBox or in good ol' Windows XP it'll give me an "Can't initialize audio hardware" error and freeze.
I've ran the install.exe several times and tried different audio choices, but none work. Does anyone have an idea how to get this running, except for turning off audio or selecting PC-speaker? I want the cool (midi) music, not the PC-speaker bleeping! ;-)

One of my old childhood friends and I used to play this game a lot. After a while we didn't even play to win, but to see how rich we could get and how much stuff we could buy. It was not unusual for us to end up with 300 color TV's or something redicilous like that. Nice to be able to play this little gem again.
