A really cool adventure from Sierra.

I strongly agree that those playing this for the first time in a while, and especially those playing for the first time, might want to forgo the talkie version so the lo-fi cartoony voices and laggy interface don't taint the experience.

Those who wish to get the voice acting for this game may regret it. This was Sierra's first or almost first CD game and the voice actors were simply the company workers who generally had little acting talent or experience. On the whole, I suspect that many if not most would find the voices more irritating than enjoyable.

So I downloaded the game, but I can't figure out how to install it. There are so many files and I'm not sure which one I need. Anyone able to help??

Its pretty short... And is pretty boring. Its successor on the other hand is BRILLIANT!

@ Name: You cannot "fix that" when it comes to the audio for voices in ANY game on MyAbandonware. You will have to track down a retail copy for purchase on either STEAM or GOG in order to get the audio files for the voices.

I can't get any of the dialogue. The music and sound works fine but I'm not getting any voices.
Anyone know how I can fix that?

Nevermind about the Soundblaster thing, I wasn't using an emulator.

@ nutmeg: i also had troubles entering the tailorshop. the thing is, when using the hand/action symbol on the tailorshop door, graham will instead enter the toyshop. try using the walk/travel symbol on the tailorshop door, this should work!

Anybody else having trouble entering the tailor's shop in town? I click on the door and Graham instead heads down the street to enter the toy shop. I've tried clicking all over the screen and can't find a way to enter the tailor's store. Any ideas?

I think 5 is the only one I ever played. It was OK but not really my thing...

In my opinion, 4, 5, and 6 were the only ones worth playing. Then again, those were the ones I grew up with, so I'm biased.

I've still got 5 on CD from the early 2000s; can't remember if I've seen 5 in English for download.

"Hoooo, is that a new dance, Graham?" XD
5 had my favourite script of all.

I remember playing this game when I was around 11 years old! My most favourite KQ ever!

Owl: "Oooh, is that a new dance, Graham? The "Bugaloo"!" hahahaha!

Sorry, you won't find the Larry reference in this version. I forgot that The version with the reference was the CD re-release for Windows that had all 7 King's Quest games on it. The reference is still on the original version of "Freddy Pharkas" tho'.

I used to play the NES version of this all the time when I was 18, and bought this one as soon as I got a computer that would play it..

By the way, the same "Leisure Suit Larry" reference can be found in both this game, and "Freddy Pharkas; Frontier Pharmacist" If you look at a certain barrel, you will get the message "No, Thursday's you night in the barrel." If you don't know what that's referring to, in both Larry 1 and 2 there was an obnoxious character who only said punchlines to jokes, without telling the whole joke.

Seems like it's no longer available since GoG is selling a pack with ep 4,5 and 6 for 10 bucks.

This is the French version. Is there an English copy available?
