The beta goes down at 08:00 Paris time, in a few minutes. We rebuild the database from the live site. It comes back in about an hour.
Just a follow-up to the previous post from TYTY. If you are using an actual XP retro machine like I am, the registry bypass method does not work.

to bypass the CD requirement do this:
regedit
modify CDPath value in HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dynamix\Sierra Sports Maximum Pool to your installation directory, and then copy the pool.exe file into a new subfolder named MaximumPool within the game directory

I was going to say that this looked just like 3D Ultra Cool Pool, good to know that it's a sequel.

This is the latest sequel to 3D Ultra Cool Pool —adds Carrom Billiards mode + Quick Start + AI Avatars + Better in-game Help Menu + Previously AutoHotkey/ Keyboard Emulated Mouse keys wouldn't work you had to double press the drag button, but now you can use the Keyboard to click if you've got a AutoHotkey emulated Script running (I use Numpad to emulate Mouse using AutoHotkey) like me.. This game needs some tweaking to get it to work w/o CD (there's a coolpooltest Tripod site /w instructions & patch. Overall the game is more polished & playaable, though much tougher. Also, you can use it /w cnc-ddraw wrapper for potentially better graphics/ performance ! CoolPool was 182 MB this is around 600 MB (no movies though, that's been replaced /w in-game texts.) Overall this game is superior in every way (more modes/ better anti-aliasing perhaps, & the AI speaks /w video !) Wish I'd known about this back in the Yahoo Pool days, would've saved so much hassle this is hands down the best Stickpool (has 2D Overhead View) game ever, better than Virtual Pool 3/4 (which is 3D.)
