This fast and fun futuristic tactical strategy game is among the best "beer and pretzel" multiplayer games ever made. Despite a disappointing single-player mode (where entering commands for robots takes forever), the game is a lot of fun in multiplayer, where up to 4 players compete in various modes (e.g. "capture the flag") using robots.

This was one of the first Windows games I ever came across and I played it ceaselessly for a few months back in the day. It works great running on Linux with Wine. Personally, I love the "Program em, let the action generate, then view the video of what happened" model. Yes,it is finicky and the bot settings are mouse-intensive...but I still love this game for a bit of tactical turn-based fun.
It looks mindless and chaotic. In the pictures I don't see fireing, bullets, or rockets, or lasers, only fires and aarghs. The view of the robots are totally wrong. You can see an let's say "isometric" vew of an area and robots who are in normal view, like if they were before you standing on the ground. The view is from too high anyway.. Pity, I would love a good robot war game. But not that idiot way.
If you have Linux and WINE, it runs well there.
You could run windows 3.11 on dosbox or get a windows 95/98/XP VM to play it.
You might be able to get it working under windows XP.
Hi
