Oh my god. I had a demo of this on a big sampler CD. I was thinking about it just a few days ago. I didn't think I'd ever remember the name, much less see it again. Then I follow a friend's link to Star Command Deluxe and this is in the suggestions. Outstanding.

I am trying to reload a saved game but get two error messages. The first is "run-time error R6003 - interger divide by 0", and the second is "run-time error R6001 - null pointer assignment". How do i fix these?

I am getting an error message when I try to play. They are: Run-time error R6003, - integer divide by 0; and, Run-time error R6001, - null point assignment. How can I correct these errors in order to continue playing the games?

Used to love playing this game. Is there any hope of it coming back in some form?

I do have an original manual for this game (Empire Deluxe). Are you in need of a copy?

I played the original VAX/VMS version in the 80's and loved it. In the 90's I bought the White Wolf version for the PC and have been playing it ever since. The original version was a fixed size random map that had to be explored, and I always thought of it as a supercharged version of the kids game "Battleships" that was played with pegs. But in this game everything moves and the objective is to capture enemy cities. I still play in this mode at times, usually on a 38x40 map against one AI enemy. The Deluxe version lets you play in classic (standard) mode, but also has an advanced mode with a few additional pieces. In setting up a new game in either mode, the Deluxe version also gives you control over production and combat advantages or disadvantages for each player, including AI opponents. One down side to the advanced mode is that production rates drop if you accumulate too much hardware, which makes games on large maps or with a small number of cities longer. You can put cities in "no production" mode though and this will counterbalance somewhat. Individual city production efficiencies are also randomly assigned during new map generation, and idle cities will slowly gain efficiency. It takes some time to get the hang of balancing production and "maintenance" in order to crush your enemies. In this version aircraft and attack cities to disrupt production and sometimes destroy units hiding within. The Deluxe version also provides map and scenario building tools, so you can recreate historical battles with realistic production centers and forces along borders and at sea. I've not spent much time using these features, Killer Bee maintains an old map and scenario archive that is a MUST HAVE if you like playing the Deluxe version https://www.killerbeesoftware.com/ed/ When I bought a new W10 machine a few years ago I could no longer play my old 32 bit version, but I found a 32 bit emulator that offered a free (but limited) install. It's called VMware, but to use it you have to reload your legacy Windows OS. I save all this stuff, so I was able to load XP into the VMware emulator platform running on W10, then transfer my Deluxe files over to the VM XP area. The VMware solution works well, and so far my W10 platform will complain occasionally and I have to start XP in safe mode.

Is there anyway I can get my hands on a Mac version of the full Empire Deluxe game that is fully functional? I would like to install it so I don't have to use the internet when playing it. I really don't like the DOS box very much, Thanks

I have played Empire, the first and original Empire, for many years way back on the Commodore 64. It was very basic, but easy to learn and always a challenge. I have just recently played the Deluxe version, and I have to say I do not understand it. If you are familiar with the original Empire, there is a production mode where you can see what each city is producing. There is also a production mode on Deluxe, but it shows nothing. Half the cities disappear, and what cities are left on the map all show an artillery symbol. I just don't get it. Maybe a manual will help, but I never needed a manual on the original Empire. Yes, maybe the graphics are better in Deluxe, but playability is far worse in my opinion.

I am still playing Empire Deluxe on Apple computers. I just loaded OSX 10.4.11 (Tiger), with Classic OS 9, onto my old 17" Mac G4 PowerBook. Had to tweak OS a bit at first, but it runs and I'm enjoying it again. My diskette was dated 1994. Ottawa, Canada Aug/2014

One of the first platform, based on the Board game. In fact, this is an updated version of the classic game Empire, adapted to the modern (1993) computers. The objective of the game is to capture the world using land, air and Maritime units. In the beginning you can choose the type of rules, which will be the game. Graphics are almost there, which is not surprising for the platform.
