On this game I passed long hours playing. Later started changing its BASIC program and adding more features and details as PC went from 8088 to 2086. My version ended with 4 colors and was finished on a "Hard Drive" of 10 MB or about 14 floppy disk capacity. I tinker it for years until commercial games were a lot more polished. As most DOS games mine also went crazy with the processor speed. PC magazines used to have useful programs or subroutines to use, but you have to copy the printed code. I had to implement a timer correction I found on one mag. I was only good at graphics.

...Damn. I spent far more hours playing this on a CDC-6600 than studying back in both High School and College. The Texas U version was probably the best where the Klingon AI was concerned, not to mention the "Commodore Emeritus" certificates you could have *plotted* out on a nice, large E-sized plotter the had in the Engineering building.
No doubt I'll probably spend an hour or two playing this tonight...:)
