An excellent adventure game with a detective theme. In my opinion - one of the best (if not the best) in this genre in the moment of its premiere. I know that it is "Sierra" which some love and some hate but still the game is great and even haters should turn a blind eye.
Great game, I love it! I played a lot when I was a teen, and I can still play it

When I click on "play" for this game, it asks me to click a name based on the fingerprint. Which ever one I click on says that "it's sold out" how can I play the game?
Sierra really did an outstanding job with presentation for these games. I remember for Colonel's Bequest we got a booklet that was covered in a magic-eye type layer that you had to use a red tinted "monocle" to decipher. The booklet had fingerprints that showed up under the red monocle. I don't think this will ever happen again for a game box since nobody pays attention to the contents anymore unless you pay the stupid price for a collector's edition.
On of the best adventure game I've ever played.
Since it is possible to complete the game without understanding all the plot it has a great replay value!
Damn..... I was really addicted to this game as a little kid :).
Can remember playing this alone in my room in the evening. I constantly had a underbelly feeling while playing because of the eery setting. There was a constant threat of you getting killed.. :D
Amazing game!!
omg this gam is so awesome i remmber playin it when i was a kid. anyone no wher i can get some more cool myster game?
OMG! I remember this game and I loved it! I am so glad I am able to play it again. ^_^
I loved this game so so so much. I can't even begin to describe. I don't think I ever found EVERYTHING out, but I remember when I started to figure things out, it was incredible. It is limited as most older games would be, but it's wonderful. Absolutely great storyline, lots of fun, colorful characters, I can still hear the hour chime of the clock in my head.
i burowed my mates copy in when i was a young fella and i remember playing it for ages trying to finish it. cant recal if i did or not. i reckon i would've.
For me the graphics are pretty nice, considering the limitations of EGA. Having to type commands is much worse. And the typical Sierra interface - not much later than this game - was known for being very comfortable and intuitive. It's just a pity it wasn't yet developed at this time.
Some people want to remake this game; my suggestions would be: don't change the story, at most fix the illogical elements (like somebody being killed right after Laura saw him or her sleeping or walking) - but introduce the Sierra interface! However, I can have my opinions, and still it's pretty unsure if there will indeed be a remake...
The graphics look simplistic but this is one captivating game. Excellent plot and remarkable for the year it was released. Must-play for any adventurer
