@A you have to press CTRL, Shift and Hit ESC
find the process named something along the lines of either "installshield" or "setup 32" (it varies between games) and right click it, then navigate to go to details
then you have to right click the same process under details (it should already be highlighted) and click Analyse Wait Chain, then end any processes that are stated to run before the installshield process is

As other mentioned the game can be dowloaded here from website. When starting the ISO file then it opens the little box to install the game. I click on install but nothing happens. Why people add a game that isnt working? And if its possible to make it work, then why no one here tell us how to make it work?

First thing I always did at this game was removing as much starts as possible from one of the goalkeepers in the squad. As the starting 'keeper can't get injured or sent off, there is no point in having a reserve using up the credits.

Seriously need some help getting this game working in windows 10! I can install the thing, but when I click stars.exe, it thinks for a brief moment, and then nothing... It does´nt go black or anything, it just stays at the desktop... HEEEEELP!!!!

The only thing stopping me from playing this game is the inability to edit the control.cfg on the mdf. disk image. If anyone has any ideas, please post them.

All is working good and I was very surprised to hear that music again after so many years. However there is one major problem, all Directional pads and sticks on my Xbox controller for windows have no effect in game, the buttons work but I don't have a D-pad, please help somebody! So near yet so far. :'-/

Thank you so much, My memories of this game are that it was the most satisfying football game I ever played. I hope I can get it working. "playable with some tinkering" can you please specify what tinkering is most necessary? I have Win7. Do I need to change the Installer? Please help. :-/
