Atari launched the ST in 1985 as a 16-bit home computer, and its low price and MIDI ports made it popular for both games and music studios, above all in Europe.
The ST hosted Dungeon Master, Oids and Speedball, along with a large library shared with the Amiga and strong support from British and French studios.
Hatari and other emulators now run ST disks and cartridges on modern machines.
