Miles Gordon Technology released the SAM Coupé in 1989 as an enhanced, part-compatible successor to the ZX Spectrum. It came too late to win the market from the Amiga and ST.
Its games ran from Spectrum ports to titles that used its sharper graphics and sound, backed by a small but loyal community.
SimCoupe and other emulators run the SAM Coupé library on modern systems.
