salve a tutti spero che qualcuno riesca ad aiutarmi, ho scaricato semza problemi il gioco e a comprimerlo con win. rar, ma non riesco a trovare la cartella cercandolo su windows, detto questo funziona anche senza Direct.09 o come si chiama, il problema è che non riesco a salvare il profilo. Lo creo, ma appena chiudo il gioco e lo riapro non ho piu il profilo creato e ogni volta devo iniziare la campagna da capo. potreste aiutarmi?

To add one more thing guys, you will need the DirectX 9.0 to play this game. So make sure you have it on your system, or this game will not run. Download it from this official link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109. I have downloaded and run the 1.09 version, which is on this site; it works perfectly fine on Windows 11. Enjoy :)
By the way, guys, I just saw that 7ero aka IR330AX's version IS ON THIS SITE. Just press download and then download the number 3 option (1.3GB size). It is the one I have, didn't saw it.

Runs very well on Windows 10. I had no major issues and could get it to fit properly in fullscreen without any extra steps.
The game itself has major problems, particularly in the campaign, that are intentional: units move incredibly slowly. But this game has a unique feature I have never seen in other games, and is made better by being run on a modern system: there is almost no actual population or resource limit. The limit for units is when the engine finally crashes. I easily in a skirmish could get 2000+ units amassed and attacking an army of equal strength without major problems or crashing. More than any modern rts or Total War game. You also are able to freely build anywhere on the map, especially with walls. But AI can often be stupid and needlessly defensive without building actual defenses. I spent two hours building up forces and defenses on a skirmish on hard difficulty, only for the enemy to never once attack me.
The art style is great and the music is re-used from Vangelis' soundtrack for the Alexander movie. The game follows his campaign in a rather shallow fashion, but is enjoyable.
IR330AX blog is no longer available. It seems this game is forever lost unless you still use Windows XP as your OS.

Je n'arrive pas a y jouer, l'installation se fait sans soucis mais lorsque je relance le jeu un ecran noir apparait et se ferme. j'ai tout installer C++, Directx9 ... que faire ?

Русского языка в данной версии от 7ero (IR330AX) нет от слова совсем. Может что напутал с кодировкой или синтаксисом, но кириллица не отображается, вместо неё кроказябры - закорючки точки иероглифы. Танцы с бубнами не помогают. Типа менять кодировку в реестре и тому подобное. Другие версии этой игры отлично отображают кириллицу без всяких танцев. Эта версия от 7ero (IR330AX) исключительно под латиницу.

Thank you so much for the patch. I tried playing the game while using dual monitor tools and closing the game would cause the tool to also crash. The game wouldn't ru on highest resolution either. Not really things I care about tbh. I'm just happy to be able to play this game again after the better part of two decades.

for people who is trying to play it in fullscreen, just drag the window to down before you reach main menu and select windows then fullscreen

As Chiteki said, the fully patched game 1.07 worked perfectly, there was no installation needed, just clicked the .exe and the game started.
Only slight problem in game is a few short freezes when moving a lot of units at once.
Haven’t played this in many years. Aside from the cinematics in the campaign being a little wonky, it works perfectly otherwise. Thanks much for posting 7ero’s great work patching this wonderful old game.
Completely unplayable. Engine runs but in skirmish game , hang after +- 2 hrs. Then, game does not continue. Also PC opponent reaches final development in 5 minutes, and has nukes in 1/2 hour in easiest mode. Tried 2 campaign, couldn't win any, was clobbered in 3-4 minutes.

Sadly I have the same problem as EGROEG. What can be done to save this game? I believe Alexander is not a DOS game, is that right? I hope to hear something soon
game starts up fine using the fully patched game download, but wont work when starting an actual game. it just goes to black screen then crashes
I've been trying to play this game for 10 years. I bought an old gaming pc for €3,000. All my success is thanks to my company and logical thinking because of this game!
Ive tried DxWnd and have the same problem, i run as admin and the icon shows down in the task bar but then goes away as if i didnt lunch anything no errors no nothing

On a related note, the fully patched game 1.07 made by IR330AX, that is graciously provided here, worked out of the box perfectly without any shenanigans! I'm astounded. A huge thank you for this version, it even has all the additional languages to choose from aside from English, FR GE IT PL SP and even RU. Marvelous job, mr. IR330AX, don't know how you did it. And separate gratitude to Myabandonware site itself, you're awesome guys X)
If someone is having trouble running this gem, I made it work with DxWnd. Just ran through it, without changing any default settings. Nothing else worked for me, maybe it'll help someone.
