Burntime is an innovative post-apocalyptic strategy game from the makers of underrated strategy classic 1869.
The goal is simple: to gain control of cities in the assigned area, in the harsh environment where mutants and monsters abound. You can barter for necessities such as meat and weapons, and recruit other survivors to form a band, enticing them with promise of food. You can assign various types of people to tasks they are most suitable for, such as fighters to take over cities.
Gameplay is disappointingly simple, however, and many times it feels more like a dumbed-down RPG than a full blown strategy game. Still, attractive graphics, vast gameworld to explore, and hidden surprises in the game keep it from being completely boring. If you want a good survival simulation however, play Wilderness or Visions of the Aftermath in the Sim section instead.
But if you are not too hung up on realism and want a solid strategic game that offers a unique premise, cross-genre gameplay elements, and even a 2-player competitive mode, Burntime may very well be your cup of tea. Highly recommended!

Free remake.
Great game. If you are not familiar with this game, get a manual from archive.org. Reat it amd then try this game out. The DOS version is better, as it is already cracked. It is a rewarding game. Try it out.
This game is now available as a remaster on Steam for free!
Works fine in dosbox.
To Save & Load, you have to create the Folder: BURNGAME
in the same directory as the .BAT file
Loved this game on Amiga. Still got my Amiga 1200 and this game's original disks.
I loveed this Game back in 93 - I found that i can't get the Load or Save game progress to work in DosBoX either - Anyone know if that feature is available on the emulated version?
i cant save/load in dosbox.
My all-time favorite game in the RETRO section
Well actually there's no copy-protection. But either way game is kinda peculiar and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do in it.
This game has manual copy protection so it would be nice to have it included with the game... Anyway I found this link with the manual http://www.burntime.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21
This game is awesome! :D
A very nice, playable and enjoyable post-apocalypse RPG. Feels like somewhat of a prequel to famous later games like Fallout, even though it has less of a storyline and more of a stroll through ruins and secure food and wealth feel to it. I played it a lot when I was a kid. Give it a try.
