I was infatuated with Bloodstone: An Epic Dwarven Tale. Played for quite a long time, maybe around a year. A lovely and brutal RPG. You can live your life however you like it. Even your companion can go on an adventure on its own. Sometimes meeting them in another city or another camp which are different from when we part.
Didn't finish it back then, and lost my copy. suddenly around the 2010s, I found it on the abandonware site, feeling excited, I played it again. And, somehow manage to finish it.
A fond memory of it, being a dwarf and how the perspective of other races impact how you are treated.

tips for anyone trying to finish the game: you need to build a ship to an island to search for legendary Bloodstone Axe. On the Island, avoid every monster (because they are ridiculously strong) until you find the Bloodstone Axe.

definetily one of the best rpg titles of all time. that's no joke. game contains a huge and truly living environment to discover. because of that, it's also incredibly hard to complete, of course.

to install with dosbox, mount unzipped bloodstone directory to A:\ eg

mount a: C:\games\bloods~1
then install should work from a: driv

thanks helper this is exactly how to do it
make sure youre mounting it as A: drive so when you install the program will find the installation files on the newly created virtual A: drive

noob here, after about an hour i figured out how to install. I'm going to leave this for the other noobs
download the files and unzip in c:\dosrom\bstone
open dosbox
your cursor will say z:\
type: "mount c: c:\dosrom\bstone" and press enter
then: "mount a: c:\dosrom\bstone -t cdrom" and press enter
then: "c:" and press enter
then: "install" and press enter
in the install menu, keep everything the same, and use your arrow keys to select "install"
after files are installed, use any key to leave menu
type "blood" and press enter to start playing

I still can't get the game to play. D: I followed the instructions on the text file it comes with but I didn't get any results. Anyone have suggestions? I might buy it from GOG!

I was not really a fan of the Magic Candle series (I know, blasphemy from a CRPG fan!) but I don't consider a dungeon complete until I've explored every nook and cranny and MC's fatigue system pretty much rendered that impossible (or at least frustrating enough to be the same.) I just discovered this gem here, it runs on a tweaked version of the MCIII engine and the fatigue is far more forgiving, making the game much more fun. Don't mistake that to mean this game is 'easy' but it is certainly more enjoyable, if not for that reason then simply because the controls in general are superior to the Magic Candle series.

Loved this one. Liked it even more than the Magic Candle series. Gmeplay is similar and even more fun to play.
