game starts but after showing the initial developer logo it the screen stays dark with the outline of logo box still visible. the sounds starts playing in the background which seems like a good sign but so far this is all I'm getting.

All the "updated installer" does is pull up a window that says "Loading" and then eventually closes it and does nothing. I've tried running the game directly from the iso file and all it says is it requires 256 color mode. It'll repeat this message despite turning on 256 color mode in the compatibility settings. I have no idea how to make this work.
