Mayday: Conflict Earth

I managed to install the game and play it in Windows 8.1 without using DosBox or DXWND. Just use a combination of WINEVDM (OTVDM) + Narzoul's DDrawCompat + compatibility settings to all the exe + ogg-winmm CD Audio Emulator for soundtrack.

Much more faster and smooth framerate than DosBox + Win95 emulation. All FMVs are working as normal so far. Compatibility setting for the game's exe including the intro.exe are Windows 98, 640x480 resolution, run as admin, and 16-bit colour.

Install the video codec separately (if the 1st attempt failed during the game's installation) by using OTVDM.exe from the WINEVDM folder (with compatibillity settings) to the location of C:\Program Files (x86)... the installation might not fully finished due to inablity of the program to write the .ini file, just quit and the FMV will play when you play the game.

Any idea where I could get v1.11 ?

Works on windows 98SE using doxbox-x. For those wondering how to work with the .bin/.cue file. Is easy, just follow these steps:
1) Mount ".bin" file, then perform full installation using the mounted optical disc drive(eg. A:\ , B:\)
2) Unmount the ".bin" file, after installation completes
3) Mount ".cue" file
4) On your OS go to My Computer - Double-click the mounted optical disc drive (eg. A:\ , B:\) which starts the Launcher from disc. Then click "Mayday" to play

In summary, you need to mount .cue file each time you play as it allows the CD to be recognized without the "Please insert mayday-CD" prompt. It also ensures in-game music is loaded during all campaign missions.

I installed it on Windows XP (32-bit), but can't run - write "please insert mayday-CD". Multiplayer works. I use PowerISO and virtual drive. How to fix it?

Use winevdm for 16-bit installers, run games with DxWnd

This took me a long time to figure out. I personally used Vmware workstation pro i assume you can use dosbox too. I found a windows 98 SE installer from archive.org and used a win98 license i had. Installed vm following this guide https://www.sysnettechsolutions.com/en/install-windows-98-vmware/, once i had the VM working and drivers good i still had issues. I would recommend getting Scitech display doctor(to give you 16bit colors?), Daemon tools 3.47(for the bin file to mount as cd). I would also do minimal install in the install options. You will have to remove all cd drives(not including the daemon virtual drive with mayday) and set the VM hard drive as IDE0:0.

For all: BIN is ISO! this can be simply burn or install in virtual drive. But installer is 16-bit, so on 64-bit Windows can't run it.

I love this game. It reminds me about my childhood and my father.

Holy shit, I was looking for this for so long! Every now and then I would remember this game and whenever I went to look for "Mayday" I could never find a game associated with it and thought I was going crazy cus I was convinced the game was called Mayday.

This shit was my jam when I was like 7-8 years old. I'd play Red Alert on PS1 and this on the family PC.
