Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny

Very complexed game with its own unique world that you really need to get into. Even some phrases are its own creation that require hard studing the manual. The game is good but for a really hardcore RPG fans.

Can anyone help me with using CD music in English version? I have followed the instructions provided in this link: www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Realms_of_Arkania:_Blade_of_Destiny#Use_CD_music_in_English_version

But something must have changed (maybe in folder naming) that this no longer works. I would really appreciate if someone could assist with this! :)

The time limit is not actually a problem, because you can find the necessary map parts and the orc deployment document much earlier. If patches exists for that particular problem, I didn't know.

Apparently this game has a time limit to get the sword and kick orc butt. If you do not get the sword within 2 in-game years, you lose. This puts a bit of a downer on this game...should be no time limit if it is not real-time game. Also text-bug in the blacksmith is really annoying...no idea if patch exists for it.

@Don: Of course it's dated, it's from '93...

The graphics and controls are very dated, but if you can cope, this (and its two sequels) is one of the best RPGs in many respects: Great Story, huge world/background, great character creation flexibility, complex yet easy-to-understand game mechanics, vast amount of simulation.

PROTIP: Take two non-magic using characters at max, also ignore all classes but the elves, the dwarf, the warrior and the mage. They suck.
