Risk: The Game of Global Domination

It starts the game and the intro, but before I'm able to enter the main menu there is an error message regarding the bin. files. Its FastAi.bin if I click ignore there are also rebel0.bin etc and a menu bar file. Then it crashes.

I figured out the no CD issue. Download the repack and the patch. Copy over the patch files. Then, In the Risk Classic Collection folder, you should see a PowerShell Script file SDCDLAUNCH. You need to open the file in Notepad and copy the script. Next, search Windows for PowerShell ISE and Run as Administrator. The issue everyone is having is a permissions issue. By running PowerShell ISE in admin mode and pasting the script, it should execute the game as intended.

Using the LGU Repack, there will be a PowerShell file in the games folder on your Hard Disk. This file mounts a virtual CDROM drive with the Risk disc in it. After that, it launches the game. Run this PowerShell (.ps1) file, not RISK.EXE.

Sadly, still the same issue. Using the LGU Repack and Patch 1.1, still faced with no CD issue. Unless I find my old disk, I think this nostalgia train will go unresolved. :(

Fix for CD Issue LGU Repack (im on win11):
Get the Patch 1.1 use the exe within to replace the one in the risk folder.
Open ps1 file in classic collection folder with notepad
Open an elevated powershell in risk classic collect, execute the lines in the ps1 one by one, until line 13 is executed (get-cimInstance) (Can ignore line 1 and 10)
then open the risk exe

As others have mentioned, LGU Re-Pack "+ no-CD fix" is not working. After installation, the user is still prompted to insert the CD.

I am finding that the 2nd file, the play disc, is corrupted. This is happening irrespective of which tool I use to open/mount it. Is there a working update?

I keep getting the "Insert CD" error. I tried both downloads and the patch. Please advise?

thanks for this, below, it totally worked for me, and brought this game back to life for me after 25 years, because the disk definitely doesn't work on 64 bit.

I tried to get this working under Crossover on a Mac running High Sierra and I keep getting an error when I try to install it.

General error whilst copying files. Please check your target location and try again.
