The Adventures of Maddog Williams in the Dungeons of Duridian

DOS - 1992
Also available on: Amiga - Atari ST

The Adventures of Maddog Williams is a great shareware graphical adventure in the style of Sierra's early King's Quest (i.e. text parser with graphics). As genius inventor Maddog Williams, journey far and wide across the kingdom to save the world from impending doom.

The parser is not up to Infocom's standard, but it is definitely as good as Sierra's early AGI games. Well worth your time if you are a fan of "old-skool" parser-with-graphic games.

I don't know why this got stuck in my brain. It was just one of the many, many games on the Wiz-Pak 6-Pak CD-ROM, and not even remotely the best one on the disc. But I'm glad I found it again, even so!

I only played the demo back in the 90s but it left enough of an impact on my younger mind that I never forgot about this game. The scene where he comes across a cult ritual was forever burned into my mind. I can't wait to finally play this game and find the answer to my questions that I have pondered for over 30 years.

when the retro-gaming had begun to become an issue back in the first half of 2000's, there were lots of enthusiats creating barely new adventures on famous AGI machine of SIERRA. wish that trend survived for more...

This is a fun little game. Similar to King's Quest, but with a darker feel. I had the demo for this when I was a kid and never knew what an epic adventure is is. It was great to finally play the full version. It's challenging, but easy enough to not get you too frustrated.
