The company's blurb, in contrast to normal hyperbole, is an accurate description of these games: "The V for Victory series sets a new standard for computer wargames. It is the most complete, accurate, and realistic simulation of large scale WWII ground combat ever produced. Yet V for Victory is remarkably easy to learn and play."
Great AI, interface, and plenty of units and historical variants make these Atomic Games' breakthrough games and designer Keith Zabalaoui a household name in wargaming. Must-haves for every wargamer's arsenal. Atomic's description of the Gold-Juno-Sword, fourth and final game in the series:
The sleepy Norman countryside has come to the forefront of the war as over 100,000 allied troops assault Hitler's vaunted Atlantic Wall. Eight German panzer divisions and three powerful Commonwealth corps are engulfed in the titanic battle for Caen and the Commonwealth beaches... V for Victory: Gold-Juno-Sword takes the series back to the Normandy beaches. As the Commonwealth commander, you must take and hold a beachhead large enough to secure a foothold in Europe, and open a second front against Germany. As the German commander, you must destroy the Commonwealth divisions, and force them to withdraw from the continent.

This is a great game. I found my old disks in a box while cleaning the attic and was taken with a wave of nostalgia. Unfortunately, being a DOS based game, the disks will not run on Window 7 or XP.
It took a little effort to get it setup but it is possible to enjoy this remarkable game again. This is what I did.
First, locate a copy of DOS, I downloaded it from the internet.
Second, download and install at copy of VMware. (it's free)
Third, install DOS on the VMware.
Fourth, load the game.
Be patient when loading the game, it takes a few minutes to load. Also, sometimes the mouse acts a little odd. Just leave the VMware and return focus, no need to shut it off, just change focus to Windows and then back to VmWare
This was a groundbreaking series. The first modern wargame with very good graphics.
