Sega released the Saturn in 1994 in Japan and 1995 in the West. Its twin processors made it a powerful 2D machine and a fine home for arcade conversions, though it was harder to program in 3D.
Standout games include NiGHTS into Dreams, the Panzer Dragoon series, Guardian Heroes and a deep line of Japanese shoot-em-ups and fighting games, many never released outside Japan.
Mednafen and other emulators now run a large part of the Saturn catalogue.
