Battle Moon Wars: The Best

I can't hover over items and skills to read what they do. Does anyone know how to fix that?

my game keeps crashing 2 seconds in. the last time I played this game was around 2023/2024 and now I open it it just crashes. I even downloaded from this source just now and the same still happens

This game has 2 partially overlapping routes tied to which character you choose right at the start. In case anyone wants some orientation on which route to pick first here's a few pointers:

1) For the most part it doesn't matter much, the routes are basically equivalent.

2) Takumi's route however is a bit more beginner friendly than Haruna's, for the following reasons:
2a) He's the easier to use character, because he's a durable front-line character, while Haruna is a fragile ranged character, that takes a bit more figuring out to use well.
2b) He gives a bit more of an introduction to the characters you meet early and what's going on by thinking or talking about what he knows from the files he read up on.

Of course if you prefer things to start off a bit more confusing and chaotic or want to start off with a steeper learning curve, then Haruna's route is the one to pick first in that regard.

3) Story and character-wise Takumi's route focusses more on the Tsukihime-Melty Blood side, Haruna's on the Fate side, but you get all (non-bonus) characters in both routes and there's Fate and Tsukihime-Melty Blood elements in both.

The game also has unlockable characters and bonus missions. The Bonus missions require getting enough Battle Masteries. Here's the full details on the various unlockables:

If anyone wants to get the great OST of this game, here is how you can extract it from the game files:

1) Here's a post about how to extract and edit stuff from the game files. The part you need is about a tool called "YanePack"

2) Use Yanepack to extract the content from all the .dat files.

3) Use file search in the folder you extracted everything to to search for .ogg files, which is the format all the BGMs come in and there's your OSTs.

You can find some other interesting stuff there aswell, like the all the sprites and other images used throughout the game, aswell as configuration files for the chapters, dialog and units.

I think I can answer the question below in regards to this version including the final Perfect Edition Patch and that answer is: Yes.

According to the post linked below, the perfect edition patch is what updated Nanaya's until that point still unimpressive attack animations, aswell as either updating or adding Magical Amber's attack animation (or maybe the whole character?).
Regardless, the animations described and shown in the trailer the post talks about, are the ones those characters also have in this version of the game. Hence the patch does seem to be included and this should indeed be the fully updated, final version of the game.

Is there a way to remove the english patch? I wanna play the game in Japanese

Great game. Especially the combat animations and OST are very epic and still outclass most new games. If you want to take a quick look at those search for "Battle Moon Wars Attacks" on youtube.

Runs great and doesn't require any sort of additional setup. Although you guys should note that this fan translation is only partially complete. Some things are not translated.

Just wanted to say that despite the flag on the download button, the game has an English fan translation applied.

Is this the perfect edition? The final release of the game was called best edition and then a while later the devs released one final patch updating the game to the perfect edition.

Oh wow! I had this game a LOOOONG time ago and then my PC crashed. And I couldn't find a copy of it anywhere (probably just didn't look hard enough, but...). So happy to find this again! Thank you!
