Hey! This game is no longer available on the website. It's just a dead link that stalls forever then hangs. Does anyone know where to get a copy for linux?

ah dang the official site is now dead. i guess it's officially abandonware unless Christian Knudsen is still active somewhere. ASCII Sector is still one of my favorite freeware games.

Runs in Windows and is an amazing feat of programming. Highly recommended!

It's nice game... but it's not a DOS game. It can be downloaded for free from its author page: http://asciisector.net/
I played it since its first release, when it was called Privateer : ASCII Sector. It is noticeable even now, it was designed as a Wing Commander Privateer based roguelike.
