Also, I did not notice what Fox stated about the ISO installation being more advanced in version number (1.5.1.2) than the latest patch (1.0.8.0), which is strange. In looking at the patch history though, there was a patch 1, followed by a patch 2, and then the subsequent patches were numbered 1-point something. Perhaps this backtracking in terms of numbering the patches has contributed to the confusion. Whatever the case, the latest patch (1.0.8.0) offered some additional functionality, such as being able to choose "Post FX" settings when starting up the game.

I installed the game using the CD ISO provided, and then I was able to run the game without any additional patching. However, the latest patch (patch v1.0.8.0b) offers some improvements, including in terms of graphics, so I then installed the latest patch. The game is running fine for me on Windows 10. I believe there is already a link to the patch website (Mod DB) on this page, but for anyone interested in specifics regarding the improvements offered by each patch, you can go to the following webpage and read the description: https://www.moddb.com/games/dark-horizon/downloads/dark-horizon-1080-patch

There is a slight bit of confusion on my end.
The ISO file provided installs as version 1.5.1.2. However, the patches range to version 1.0.8.0. This seems like a HUGE downgrade, and I have to wonder: Why do the patches exist for download? Is there more stability in the previous versions that the game patches to?

Patch v1.0.6.0 -1.0.8.0b are incorrectly named. the patches check for proper file name before executing. they should be DH_1.0.6.0 , 1.0.6.1 , DH_1.0.7.0 , and DH_1.0.8.0b . Patch v1 gave question marks instead of text in the extraction window. Worked around this by opening with 7zip. Patch v2 I didn't try because it caused some confusion(it was far less polished than v1.0.6.0 -1.0.8.0b) which made me suspect it may have been made before those but I can't confirm it so left uninstalled. So far haven't tested beyond getting the the title screen.
