I downloaded the iso version on an older computer, and after I finally realized I needed to use the "crack" file to run the game, it works flawlessly.

if it says ''INSERT DISC'' u should acess the folder ''crack'', copy this exe and replace the original in principal game's arquivoe. And done.

I will help people who want to actually play the game.

Download the EU "budget rerelease" version. Extract the files from the .iso file. Use the setup to install the game. Don't launch it yet. After you've done this, download DRIV3R Definitive Edition mod from Mod DB. Follow every single instruction in the mod (it's extremely simple and detailed, took me like 15 mins with a beer in other hand). You'll need to install ALL the fixes, RTX addon and EAX audio fix included. And anisotropic fix is a must, too. The tutorial on how to do all of that is in the README.txt.

The game should run fine after that. Don't forget to use the "modernPC" profile (I forget what it's called, but there are 3 profiles and the "modern" one is set up so you get to play with familiar controls).

The best way to play Driver 3 nowadays is without a doubt the awesome "Definitive Edition" mod that not only fixes many bugs that where in the original PC version, but also restoring missing vehicle textures and features from Xbox and PS2 versions that were missing from the PC port.

In addition, you need to replace the old "d3dx9_43.dll" in the driver 3 directory (the dll file is corrupted) to a different d3dx9_43.dll (easy to find online). The definitive edition did what the game should have been in a finished state, if the publisher Atari did not force "Reflections Interactive" to rush the game to meet their deadline.

it plays surprisingly well, the when you’re in your vehicle is classic Driver with the familiar car physics, however being on foot is super awkward, it tries to copy GTA III & Vice City but feels off. The real highlight is the story, cut scenes and voice acting, which are top notch, better than I expected.

I put crack file and dll into the correct folder, but the game just goes to a black screen and closes, unfortunate. Loved this game as a kid, would love to play it again.

The game is crashing on the creation of a new profile. I can't access the game. Does someone have the same issue?

Guys, just noticed a weird bug on the game. The character cannot climb ladder? Is this happening to anyone else?

The music was good, but overall, the game was merely decent for passing the time. Some missions became extremely frustrating due to peculiar checkpoints. Additionally, the graphics felt odd, as if the game world lacked shadows, imparting a sort of underworld or supernatural vibe.

The story was its only saving grace; I found myself eager to learn more about what was happening. Lastly, I encountered no issues running it from your files, so thank you for preserving this one. It's definitely worth a try.

Fun fact: the guy in the Hawaiian shirt with the waterwings is Reflections taking shots at GTA: Vice City sicne Tommy can't swim.
