Right! Found the date, it's displayed in the museum. ChatGPT tide times here: https://rentry.co/dsaakb46 However, leaving 2 hrs after HT didn't work for me, I had to go about 15 mins before, for some reason.

I played this game in middle school about 30 years ago, and it has occupied more of my brain than it should have every since! Struggling with the tide times now, I don't have the PDF (the MBeeTech people haven't got back to me yet), but I did get ChatGPT to reverse-engineer the tide tables form the BASIC. I know you're not able to share the PDF, but is anyone able to give me a clue? Which date is in use for the tide times, for example? I need closure on this game... ;)

Thanks Dino, I would never have found that without you. I too remember never being able to finish this game because we never had the tide times chart.
I was surprised to learn this game was Australian - no wonder it's so hard to track down. I played it at school in the mid 90s on what I thought was Macintosh hardware. The colours weren't so garish and red in my memory either as the screenshots here. I wonder if this got a port at some point.

I found a pdf of the Tide Times chart without which you cannot complete the game. This was originally supplied only in hard copy. To access the pdf I found you will need to register for for the MbeeTech Repository. Link and info in the forum:

Then when you get access, look in the Documentation/Manuals/Education folder for dinosaur_discovery_teachers_manual.pdf
Finding this was harder than the game but worth it - I finally finished the game 35 years later!
Loved this game as a child!
Could never finish it though as I couldn’t get past the currents. Would actually love to play again :-)
