hey folks, the game often does not run because servial reasons.
if your pc is a super gamer pc, it might not understand old games... thank your 64 bit and new windows software for that.
anyway, there are light ahead.
if you just download the install. just install the game -- download the DLL. and no CD. (read the readme files within!) in wordpad.

wola! should be running on your pc now. if not. well, either remove everything or get a nerd to assist you.

if oyu u-intsall you can try ISO version. that neeeds a program to reas ISO files. i use a program called Alcohol 110%. thare are many versions out there. ^^
so, now oyu have the ISO file, and the special program. find the iso file where you put downloaded files. mount it, and install the game.
you now also download the DLL. and no CD.
and take it out of the rar package, and put the files directly into where you installed the game (C:\games\casino\) like this place.
start one file at the time, and test your progress (try and start the game) if still does not work. ask a geek. ther are plenty out there.

Hello, Svario96. I finally got the game to work. I actually downloaded the ISO file from internet archive. It should show 580 MB. Okay, after that, download WinCDEmu. Then, open the downloaded ISO file with WinCDEmu and mount the drive which will probably be the V: drive. Okay...install the game. Then, come to this myabandonware website and download two files: ddraw.dll and NOCD at below. Once done, copy and paste these two in the C:\SIERRA\Casino Empire folder. The game should finally work, and yes...it took me a lot of work to figure this out.

Is there a DE (german) version or a language pack?
I can remember I played the demo in german (sound and written text) in the early 2000 years..

Sorry, before CTRL+E works you have to open the tilde console, then set the console var WM_ACTIVATE to 1. Then CTRL+E works.

Also, not well known, but the .POD files (same concept as Doom .WAD files) are actually just ZIP files with the extension renamed. If you rename to .ZIP you can use any tool to view/modify them.

The most interesting POD file is classes.POD. This contains most of the data that drives the game.

But modifying POD files is not necessary! Because the game looks for and opens a file called usermods.pod if present. Any resources in this file replace existing resources in the game.

Have fun creating your own content mods!

One more tip to make it run: Do what Rethinking said and also deactivate your second monitor (by unplugging it or duplicating the display etc)

Found a much easier way to get this working

Install the game, copy the no cd over,
Download ddraw.dll from narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases github
copy it into the casino empire directory and run as normal, no need for DXwnd

Tested on windows 11

Doesn't work at all! Even if I follow the instruction for DxWnd... the game doesn't open... nothing's happen... :( so diseppointting...

Using BOTAWESOME's DxWnd guide posted below I was able to get this game running perfectly on Win10 in 2024. Man this game brings back a piece of my childhood.

Nice Great directions took me about 15 minutes and I'm already playing the Dirty Boogie. Man, I can't believe how much I missed this game.

the game runs fine, you have to play at a lower resolution or you will see the strange color effects. I don't understand why people feel the necessity to trash this website when they cannot properly configure the games.

Here is a step-by-step guide to run Casino Empire:

Replace the "CasinoEmpire.exe" with the "CasinoEmpire.exe" located in the iso file in the folder named "Game Extras" or you Search for "Casino Empire v1.0 [ENGLISH] No-CD/Fixed EXE" on Google and download it from gamecopyworld.

Download DxWnd and create a folder for it named DxWnd.

Extract the DxWnd files to the folder you created.

Double-click the dxwnd.exe file.

Select "File - Import" from the top menu.

Navigate to the "exports" folder within the DxWnd folder and select "Hoyle Casino Empire (GDI emulation)".

Right-click on the newly created icon in the DxWnd tool and select "Modify".

Find the "Path" option and click the "..." on the far right.

Navigate to the game's installation path and double-click CasinoEmpire.exe.

Press OK to confirm.

Launch the game using DxWnd.

With these steps, you can run Casino Empire without any problems.

i'm seeing it has missing files. not sure where to get the rest. i love this game! was a disappointment that I can't play it.

Screen is smashed and in purple and pinks. Seems like every download on this site is busted.

I downloaded the game, installed it, it won't even open or start.
